Jeff has brought up some good points, in particular that my email has
left much room for confusion. The short story here is that I'm looking
for people to publicly commit to the workshops committee and get
themselves signed up on the list.
While these people will be responsible for voting for workshops, they
will also be expected to help closer to conference time, answering
questions from confused presenters about everything from printing and
timing to what to wear, directing people on workshop day and even
helping to clean up. This is an actual commitment that I'm looking for.
If you're in, please join the list and let everyone know.
For the voting side of things, it's not all going to happen on the
workshops list. In fact, almost none of it will. It will happen in
private emails, or a private list if we have sufficient numbers, but
I'll go over that with the committee near the end of the week.
It should also be noted that the committee doesn't have the final word
on selection. This has been a point of confusion in the past, but the
final selection falls to the Local Organising Committee.
