Subject: [Foss4g2009] Proposal: Geoff Zeiss to coordinate a Government
policy theme in FOSS4G

I've been talking with Geoff Zeiss, who is the most visible, Geospatial
evangelist at Autodesk. He seems to spend more time at international
geospatial conferences than he does at home, and he is very well
connected.

After talking with Geoff, I'd like to propose that he be offered the
lead role in coordinating a Government presentation thread.
This would involve:
* Liasing with key government agencies and inviting them to FOSS4G
* Having an influential role in the selection of FOSS4G presentations
(in particular in the upper government space). This will be helpful to
Geoff when he is negotiating with potential presenters

In turn, Geoff will keep the Organising Committee informed with regards
to the proposed direction he is suggesting for the conference, and will
get buy in from the Committee for theme ideas before consolidating them.

Are the organising committee happy with this?
+1 from Cameron
