Hi Andrea, @list,

I take Andreas email to sum up the idea about the "Bonner GeoSummer" in
my own words. The good thing is - the idea is new and still open for
other ideas. In this context, first Andreas, many thanks for your ideas
and input.
In general your understanding is more or less correct, the main
difference is, that not only we (the LOC) are planning calendar
activities.

There is a group consisting of Professor Greve, who is responsible for
the EARSEL conference, taking place in June 2016 in Bonn, us, the LOC
FOSS4G, the administration of Bonn, the chamber of commerce Bonn, and
some others, having the plan to connect these two big Geo-related
conferences through this "GeoSummer". If there are suitable events,
taking place in between, this would help us to reach our goals. The
general idea is, to attract more and different people to the conferences
on the one side, especially for us, to prosper the ideas of our
community but also to promote the region here as a place, where a lot of
geo-business and knowledge is located.

I will check your input and come back more detailed later,

so far, Till
