 If you set up an [wiki:ApplicationDefinition/MapSet/MapGroup#InitialView
 InitialView] in a MapGroup and it is not valid (i.e. it is outside the
 extent defined in a MapServer map file) then you will get a javascript
 error in OpenLayers after the map loads.
