Dan,
Daniel M. is out of the country for a couple of weeks and won't be able to
answer, but the best place to ask this questions is on the mitab list. The
MITAB page is at:

If you can provide a smallish sample of a file that is giving you the
problem I will do a quick check to see what the problem is. I suspect that
there are new object types that are not supported yet. In fact I think there
are some outstanding Mapinfo 6.5 feature types not yet supported by MITAB
(multipoint and collections).
