[Gdal-dev] MapInfo grid (.mig) files

I know this is slightly off topic. But has anybody come across any means
of importing MapInfo grid (.mig) files and exporting them into other
raster formats (e.g. geotiff or a known DEM format). If not does anyone
have information on the mig format so that I can code up an importer
myself. I have searched the MapInfo lists but have only come across
people asking this question not answers.
