[Gdal-dev] New option to create points in polygon in ogr2ogr?

Frank,

For one of our projects we need to calculate label points (centroids)
for a set of shapefiles.  There is already a OGRPolygonLabelPoint()
function in mitab_geometry.cpp and we will probably use that in a custom
version of ogr2ogr.

Do you see any interest in making this a standard option in the release
version of ogr2ogr.cpp?  If yes then how would you want that option to
work?
