Frank,
No, I'm not actually warping the image. What I was after was a way of
resampling the pixel size up while taking advantage of the interpolation
methods.

Ray,
Are you actually doing any change in image geometry? A gdalwarp to a
file
with exactly the same size and geometry *should* result in no image
change.
Also, be sure you have the gdalwarp version that supports these
switches.
Do they show up in the usage message?
Other than that they should be subtly different in normal usage.
