Frank, please make a release before changing the API.
GRASS 5.7's import/export depends highly on OGR (but the current OGR-CVS,
due to the SHAPE bugfix and many more bugfixes and feature enhancements).
Same thing with r.in.gdal which affects both GRASS 5.3 and 5.7.
Since most distributions such a Mandrake, Debian etc accept only
official releases, we have to explain regularly to the GRASS users to
upgrade and use GDAL/OGR from CVS (which is not a good idea for
average users...).
The GRASS community would appreciate a new release before doing major
changes (1.1.10 ?).
