[Gdal-dev] ecw support under linux

I called ERMapper about this issue in August and they said it's now available on their download site. They said their technology is built on Linux and then ported to Windows for release, but it's not supported on Linux...go figure that one. Anyway, I never verified if this was true so you would have to download it and try it out. If you get it done let me know.

Thanks,
Martin

	Piero,

It is not possible to get ECW support on linux at this time; however, my
undestanding is that a source release of the ECW SDK is coming out
soon and when that happens we should have little trouble porting it to
Linux and using it with GDAL.

	Best regards,
