[Gdal-dev] clipping raster using polygon?

Bart,

You can do this operation using the freely distributed gis/rs software 
called SPRING, which is available from INPE-Brasil.  The SPRING link is 
http://www.dpi.inpe.br/spring/index.html
You can load GeoTiff, Tiff w/ TFW, etc and shapefiles to SPRING.  There is 
a tool to do this under the Tools Menu.  Also, INPE has developed an open 
source GIS classes and functions library called Terralib that may have the 
tool available.  The link to Terralib is http://www.terralib.org/
