[Gdal-dev] histograms in vrts

Hi all,

I have been experimenting with the new PAM implementation in 
gdal-1.3.1.   It looks very useful for carrying along metadata and 
georeferencing for those formats that do not support such data.  It also 
has the capability to store default histograms for each band in the 
associated dataset.  VRT files already support the former, but do not 
appear to support default histograms.  How difficult would it be to add 
such a feature?
