Hi there!
I need some hints about installing GDAL Python extension in a Windows
environment of a non programmer user.
I installed:
- Python (python-2.4.3.msi),
- pyWin (py2exe-0.6.5.win32-py2.4.exe),
- Numeric (Numeric-24.2.win32-py2.4.exe),
- py2exe (py2exe-0.6.5.win32-py2.4.exe)
I copied GDAL distribution from my computer to:
- C:/Program Files/Gdal-1.3.2/bin
- C:/Program Files/Gdal-1.3.2/data
- C:/Program Files/Gdal-1.3.2/html
- C:/Program Files/Gdal-1.3.2/include
- C:/Program Files/Gdal-1.3.2/lib
- C:/Program Files/Gdal-1.3.2/pymod
In "My computer"/properties/Advanced/Environment Variables" I added to
the path system variable:
"C:/Python24/;C:/Program Files/Gdal-1.3.2/bin;C:/Program
Files/Gdal-1.3.2/bin";
In the "User variables" I added:
- GDAL_DATA = C:\Program Files\Gdal-1.3.2\data
- PYTHONPATH = C:\Program Files\Gdal-1.3.2\pymod;C:\Program
Files\Gdal-1.3.2\bin
It is working fine, except that I can't do:
C:/Data> Python pct2rgb.py
I need to inform the full script path:
C:/Data> Python "C:\Program Files\Gdal-1.3.2\bin\pct2rgb.py"
My question is:
- Is it the right way to do that?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Ivan
