[Gdal-dev] gdaladdo problems on an Mac OS X Panther

I use gdaladdo to add overviews to a GeoTiff and receive following error
message:

Any ideas what could be the problem and how it could be solved?

We use the latest GIS Libs for Mac OS X Panther (2.2.1) including GDAL/OGR
v1.3.1 downloaded from Kyng Chaos.
