Hi Matues,

I cannot by any means connect to your CVS server. When I try entering the password it gives me the following reply:
Unknown host cvs.maptools.org

I have fllowed the procedure described on www.gdal.org. This is what it says:
___________________________________________________________

GDAL source releases are available in tar.gz and zip from
from the GDAL primary ftp site, and http mirror site:

 http://www.gdal.org/dl

 http://gdal.maptools.org/dl

The NEWS file describes features added up to the most
recent public release.

Late each night a development snapshot is captured from
CVS and made available. These snapshots are not stable
releases, and might (on a bad night) not even build.
However, they do contain essentially the latest code. They
can be downloaded from:

 http://gdal.maptools.org/dl/daily

Refer to the build instructions for how to build GDAL from
source.

 CVS

The GDAL source is available by anonymous CVS from the
cvs.maptools.org server:

% export
CVSROOT=:pserver:cvsanon at cvs.maptools.org:/cvs/maptools/cvsroot
% cvs login
Password: *enter*
% cvs checkout gdal

Update access to the CVS repository can be obtained by
arrangement with the maintainer.
____________________________________________________________________

My question is: Is pserver an alias for an IP address? If so please give me the IP address so I can add to my hosts file.

Regards,
Vasku

Hmm, that's very strange.
Could you check if those .vcw/.vcw files have CR/LF line ends?
May be those files were converted to Unix LFs only and eVC++ can not
recognize them.

Strange. I use GDAL CVS every day and it works.
Please, try to follow this procedure:

C:\tmp\gal$ cvs -d
:pserver:cvsanon at cvs.maptools.org:/cvs/maptools/cvsroot login
Logging in to :pserver:cvsanon at cvs.maptools.org:2401/cvs/maptools/cvsroot
CVS password: *ENTER*

C:\tmp\gal$ cvs -z3 -d
:pserver:cvsanon at cvs.maptools.org:/cvs/maptools/cvsroot checkout gdal

Try to downlaod them from CVS again, then check if lines in .vcw/.vcp
files are ended with CR/LF.

If it still is not working, give me ASAP a note I'll try to find where
it the problem.

Cheers
