Stop right there, you and your "non-standard extension or two to WKT".

Can you use the "AUTHORITY" WKT construct (<authority> =
AUTHORITY["<name>", "<code>"]), e.g. something like [AUTHORITY="PROJ.4",
"PROJ.4 definition goes here"]?
