Ivan,

I'm embarrassed to admit there is no documentation for the PAM mechanism
to speak of.  The PAM mechanism was implemented before there was a PSC
to keep me honest.

I'll, um, put documenting this on my list of things to do.  If you have
specific questions feel free to ask.
