[Gdal-dev] Gdal compiling error

I tried to build gdal-1.3.2 on solaris2.8 and encountered an error:

ld: fatal: relocations remain against allocatable but non-writable
sections
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [libgdal.la] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/data/lmn20/Emergy/gdal'
make: *** [check-lib] Error 2

What "non-writable sections collect2" means? How to walk around it?
