[gdal-dev] Building Gdal 1.5 beta on a 64 bit system.

Hi All,
I'm new to using and building Gdal but I have successfully built Gdal-1.4.3 and 1.4.4 and used the utilities to create a specular map with SWBD Shapefiles.  

I was trying to build the beta versions 1.5 and I'm getting link errors after the build. After looking into it I found gdal1.5 betas 1 and 2 are looking for 32 bit devel files to link. I'm confused as to how it was built with the header files from the 64 bit devel versions and is trying to link to 32 bit versions.
