[gdal-dev] How to get Depthvalue for specific lat,lon.

Hai Frank,
        I am kiruba, Is there any function call in GDAL 1.4.2 to get depth value for a specific lat,lon or adjacent depth values for the given lat,lon (in S57 ENC charts)?. If it is there can you please tell me how to implement it?
