Bryan,

No, there is no equivelent for OGR.  Unfortunately the OGR driver model
is somewhat different and generally less sophisticated than GDAL.  I hope
one day to do a "grand unification" of GDAL and OGR to a common driver and
metadata model but it is unclear if or when that will happen.
