[Gdal-dev] dgn to shape converter

hi all,
  I am new to ogr have got to use it with ms4w .
  I have been able to convert a dgn file to three shape files - point, poly and line type.
  But how do I get to see the attributes of the features and can I seperate the different
  point / line or polygon features anyway.
