[Gdal-dev] 1.4.3 build and NG bindings

(I've been talking to William K. off-list) The short Macintosh-specific 
answer seems to be:

If you have /usr/local/bin _before_ /usr/bin in your path, the python 
install should work without help

    the pymoddir path I suggested is correct, but should only be needed 
if there are problems
