Folks,

Mateusz will be unable to spend significant time on GDAL maintenance
until the beginning of May.

I am interested in finding an additional junior maintainer for the
project. For me the ideal candidate would be:

  o A reasonably skilled C/C++ developer.
o Have reasonably good written english communication skills.
o Have reliable, reasonably high bandwidth network access.
o Have a long term interest in the geospatial field.
o Have some experience with GDAL/OGR.
o Have an interest in part-time or limited time contract work.

I'm not really interested in "after hours" work by people with full time
jobs. I think the role requires more focus than that usually affords.

Likely pay rates are not all that high, so the role is ideal for someone
in a lower wage region with good network access. It has the potential to
be an excellent source of experience, and could help build a reputation
that might lead to higher paid consulting work in the FOSS4G sector (not
directly to OSGeo). The role could be thought of as a "stepping stone"
for the motivated developer.

Those with interest, or suggestions are encouraged to contact me directly.

Best regards,
