I know a few people use it though it isn't heavily used.

I'm pretty confident it does what it is supposed to do.

Note that it does *not* attempt to simpilfy the results so
you end up with very dense (points close together) contour
lines with roughly one segment per pixel crossed.

Also, be aware that the countours are just lines, and because
they just end at edges of he raster or nodata areas, they
aren't easy to form into polygons (if that is your goal).
