[gdal-dev] ECW/ERS projections

Hi

What is the best way to enable support for ECW/ERS projections that do
not have an entry in the GDAL_DATA/ecw_cs.wkt dictionary?

This projection definition is used by multiple people in my area, either
using the gdal utilities or as part of scripts coded using the gdal
python api.

I can manually update the ecw_cs.wkt file on my own installation and add
the name & wkt (which works fine) but I'd not have to maintain
modifications to core files over multiple installs. 

Any other suggestions?
