[gdal-dev] Commercial use of dwgdirect

A bit of a newbie question....

We use OGR with Mapserver and need it to be able to read dwgs.   I understand that directdwg code has been moved out of the core package to spike.  OGR pages say the use of this is 'available under fairly permissive terms'.  

My question is does anyone have an idea of the dollar costs and licence mechanisms to legally use directdwg with ogr.  I can't seem to find this info on the net.
