Hi,

thanks for the info.

Unfortunately this is not relevant to our situation. We are looking to write
specific custom tiff tags in the file, tags of which we know the name, the type,
the id number and the value.

For example the tag
NTD_Magic
which has 40000 as Id number, is an ascii field and hold "MAGIC" as value.

Using the standard setmetadata function in gdal writes the tag inside this xml
GDALinfo object, which is not what we want...
