[gdal-dev] Re: rgdal source code

Hi Jason/Roger,

I started that thread based on the wrong impression that I would be the one in change of helping
some folks to get up and running with R and the RGDAL library. I thought that I would need to
compile RGDAL against the GDAL just like I usually do for GDAL/Python and GDAL/Java in Windows and
Linux. Turns out that that is not the case. Not anymore. Somebody did a great job updating to GDAL
1.7.1, so now it is pretty simple and convenient to install RGDAL direct from the R GUI from the
closest mirror site. That is great. Well, at least for Win32. So, I rest my thread. I mean, I don't
need the "rgdal source code" anymore.

My best regards,

Ivan
