I also am doing some tests about ECW encoding with GDAL using different OS
(Windows XP 32 bit / Windows 7 64 bit / Linux Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit),
different GDAL versions and ECW plugin (1.9.0 / 1.8.1 / 1.8.0 / 1.7.3 /
1.7.0b2) from different origins (www.gisinternals.com / OSGeo4W / FWTools /
ubuntugis launchpad repository / ERDAS sources), and with or without a
TARGET creation option set.
I'll post the results as soon as the tests are completed.
