firts of all thank you for your work. It is always very nice to see how a
great open source community works.

I want to add a detail, but I do not know whether it is useful. I have
discovered this over-override 
trick, because I needed to use real spatial SQL functions, not the limited
MBR functions of MySQL spatial.
With this trick I have solved.
