[gdal-dev] gdal on freebsd

cd /usr/ports/graphics/gdal
make config
[select the options that you want]
make install clean

should do the trick

it appears that PostGIS Vector is not part of the default package, but 
is in the port as an option


  # ogrinfo --formats | grep -i post
   PostgreSQL -vector- (rw+): PostgreSQL/PostGIS
   PGDUMP -vector- (w+v): PostgreSQL SQL dump
