Lokk for infromation on weather bouys. Thye keep track of water depth,
wind, precip and I think water height.

Doing research on shore erosion of Lake Superior this information was
avaialble and the whole history behind St Mary's locks and other locks..

I don't have the info for you right here but start by searching for the
names of the locks, then read some history. Check out the usual US Army
core of engineers.

Lots of sources.

Subject: [Geodata] River locks and waterfalls ?

Does anyone know a reliable (and precise) source of locations of river
locks and waterfalls ?

FlightGear's Scenery creation tools currently put connected water bodies
at the same elevation, therefore the whole GreatLakes area is being
positioned at sea level .... :-) This could be fixed if such barriers
are known.

Cheers,
	Martin.
