*ISDE Young Scientist Committee*

 *TRAVEL AWARD FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS*


*ISDE will award the young scientist best paper and support her/him to
participate in The 7th Digital Earth Summit 2018, DES-2018,*

*Digital Earth for Sustainable Development in Africa*

El Jadida, Morocco, at the Faculty of Science, Chouaib Douakkali University
April 17-19, 2018

To encourage young scientist interest in Digital Earth, ISDE cordially
invite young scientists (under 35 years old) to compete in the Travel Award
for the 2018 Digital Earth Summit. ISDE strives to recognize and reward
outstanding research conducted by students worldwide. This award is to
provide an opportunity for young scientists to interact with the ISDE
community at an early stage in their career.

*General Requirements*

   - Two awards will be provided - one particularly for the best paper of a
   young professional working in Africa and the second award for the best
   paper of a young professional worldwide;
   - Awardees are required to present the research paper in the conference.
   The criteria are referenced to the requirements of the Oral Presentation of
   the conference;
   - The participants have the exclusive opportunity to volunteer during
   the conference in close collaboration with the ISDE secretariat.

*Award Winners Receive*

   - An award certification, granted during the conference;
   - A flight ticket (economic class) to the conference place and one free
   conference registration;
   - An ISDE student membership (one year).

*Application Procedure*

   - A cover letter from the applicant, describing the anticipated benefits
   of attending the conference, and how other expenses (e.g., accommodations
   and daily allowance for food etc.) can be covered;
   - An abstract of the research paper (abstract and full paper template
   refereed to the requirements of the conference);
   - A letter of support from the applicant’s research advisor;
   - Applicants C.V.

These documents should be sent to Mr. Jiang Hao (jianghao at radi.ac.cn) as
one single PDF file, and the applicants name should appear in the email
subject line and with the words “Travel Award for Young Scientists”. The
selection process will be judged by the ISDE young scientist committee, and
then getting the approval by the ISDE Bureau.

*Time Line *

*November, 24, 2017    Deadline for Abstract*

*December, 31, 2017     Deadline for Papers and Application Documents*

*February, 28, 2018      Notification of Winners*
