Thank you Ela. All these initiatives are very interesting and will sure help in going further with things we want to develop within our Ibero-American project. Teaming with EUROGEO can be an attractive alternative. I'll share these ideas with my colleagues and we'll probably need to arrange a meeting with you and/or Nikos (and maybe someone more).

In Europe there were also some several projects implemented including research on how geoinformation and development of geoskills is present in different curricula. We also tried to define/set up a profile of geoLearner.

Thank you very much for the invitation.
It sounds very interesting and provocative.
In 2008, I and a colleague of mine, had conducted a research on the
geography curricula that were implemented in 30 European countries. It
was very interesting to see the differences and similarities among the
countries. That research was followed by a proposition on the
construction of a European basic geography curriculum in an
International Conference in Estonia.
Since then nothing happened but I think that it will be very
interesting to have a similar research for the countries in South
America. This will help us find the common parts in the European and
South American geography curricula and also any weaknesses on digital
geography.
It will be something to start with and to have a common base.
If you find this interesting you may discuss it with your colleagues.

Hi. Within the framework of the CYTED GeoLIBERO project
(http://www.cyted.org/es/geolibero; in Spanish, sorry...) we are
developing a line of research in education which we believe may also
serve as an excuse to reactivate the GeoForAll's Teacher Training &
School Education section. This week we will have a meeting and we
plan to propose concrete actions? in order to have something
tangible to work on. If you have any ideas you would like to share
so as to be discuss lately between members of both initiatives we'll
