Thanks,

Asunto: [EdGIS] Online Collaborative Mapping Tools

Hi All,

I’m seeking some ideas for online collaborative mapping tools. One of our professors is teaching a course this fall and would like to overlay a historic map onto a contemporary map. Then she would like her students to collaboratively add points indicating the locations of places they encounter in their readings. We have looked at ArcGIS online, Google Maps Lite, Google Maps Engine, and Google Earth. The main issue that we are encountering is the collaborative nature. Do any tools jump to mind that might meet our needs?

I would greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Many thanks,

Jennifer

P.S. I sent this to the NITLE-GIS list so I apologize for the duplicate postings.
