Jeff, You must have been eavesdropping on some of our phone calls while developing the GeoAcademy :)!
We've discussed this many times as the only hope to keep the five GeoAcademy courses up to date with new releases of QGIS. I think I even mentioned that in my talk in Denmark!

Nottingham sounds great and I also Nodebo is a great cozy, comfortable place to work.

The GeoAcademy courses could be one of the targets for such a curriculum sprint. http://fossgeo.org/free-qgis-courses/
