Colleagues,

Following discussions in the community maillists and feedbacks from colleagues [1], i have now added Education, Research and Service for the betterment of humanity as the key guiding principle for "Geo for All" and we work towards the vision of the UN Millennium Development Goals http://www.un.org/millenniumgoals/ for building a better world. We welcome all who follow this guiding principle to join this ICA-OSGeo-ISPRS Initiative.[2]

There are four areas that i believe we can contribute our joint expertise for global development [3] . Even though the scale of these global challenges are big , together we can atleast provide our small efforts linking to the UN Millennium Development Goals. All members have to contribute thier knowledge and expertise for UN Millennium Development Goals for building a better world through Education, Research and Service activities. Education and empowerment are key for creating the socioeconomic conditions needed for lifting billions out of extreme poverty and creating a better world for all and we have to contribute our bit for this.

Best wishes,

Suchith
