Asunto: [Geo4All] Inviting ideas for expanding AgriGIS research globally

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of EMBRACE [1] ,i am pleased to share the presentations and outputs from the 2 Boldly Grow - Space Solutions for Precision Farming workshop at British Geological Survey, Keyworth on 11th May 2016. All the presentations were high quality and good mix of domains (from government, industry, academia) .I want to thank Florence, Paul, Steve, Claire, Svetlana for the excellent team work which was key for the successful and productive workshop in BGS bringing key people to share ideas to expand our AgriGIS research and collaborations for the future.

We thank the speakers for allowing to share thier presentations for the benefit of the wider community. All slides are at
http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/grace/events/2-boldly-grow-slides.aspx

I would also invite those interested in AgriGIS research collaborations to contact Didier Leibovici (Email - didier.leibovici at nottingham.ac.uk ) who is leading our AgriGIS theme. An overview of our latest research is at
http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/genius/documents/3-didier-leibovici-grasp-general-didierleibovici-robertosantos-daihuynh.pdf We are now working on joint journal papers, book chapters etc in this theme and invite ideas for joint research.

Some background information on our AgriGIS research is at https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/geoforall-agrigis/2016-February/000005.html

I want to bring to your attention GODAN Open Data challenge and encourage your participation for the challenge. The Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN) initiative [2] seeks to support global efforts to make agricultural and nutritionally relevant data available, accessible, and usable for unrestricted use worldwide. The initiative focuses on building high-level policy and public and private institutional support for open data. The initiative encourages collaboration and cooperation among existing agriculture and open data activities, without duplication, and brings together all stakeholders to solve long-standing global problem. Thanks to Martin for sharing the post of the event at http://www.godan.info/blog-posts/godans-highlights-2-boldly-grow-space-solutions-precision-farming

We will continue expanding our research collaboration with the Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN) initiative. Didier Leibovici and Nobusuke Iwasaki of the National Institute for Agro-Environmental Sciences (NIAES), Japan) are also the chairs for our AgriGIS thematic in Geo4All and we are expanding research through our global research labs for this.

Best wishes,

Suchith
