Thanks everyone. This was the resources I was looking for http://old.www.osgeo.org/educational_content

We will need to plan to get this migrated to the new website. We have some budget for this and I will request Peter, Jody to please advise steps for getting GetInteractive to work on this and other updates we need for the website.

Best wishes,

Suchith

Looking at some of those entries they have a lot of metadata indeed.

When looking at GeoForAll planning for 2018 consider migrate content form this database to the OSGeo website resources? It may be possible to write a script or automate.

The old website is here - http://old.www.osgeo.org

But it is a drupal website, it should like you are referencing a web application similar to how service providers was done:
- links to http://www.osgeo.org/search_profile is broken, but the application can still be scene here http://old.www.osgeo.org/search_profile
- For the service provider directory we on purpose made no plan to port content to the new website, instead we expect service providers that are involved today (rather than in 2007) to create new page (https://www.osgeo.org/service-providers/) which can do a better job of showcasing their activities in our community.

Does anyone have a link to the educational web-database application? Perhaps it is still available by a different URL?

Found a reference in the wiki https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Edu_current_initiatives ... to http://www.osgeo.org/educational_content

Adjusting the URL ---> http://old.www.osgeo.org/educational_content

Found it :)

Thanks Nikos but I don't think that's what Suchith is referring to.

@Jody or whoever managed the old OSGeo website:

Under the Education and Curriculum Committee page we had links to an educational metadata "search form" and an "add educational metadata" form. The latter fed a database with educational metadata that people had been adding to since about 2007. It was a web-database application that Tyler Mitchell developed. That's what I believe Suchith is asking about. It had a lot of entries, over time.

Even if it is recovered, I'm not sure how we'd integrate that to the new website, though.

Cheers,
Charlie

Thanks Jody. I have now updated the section with the link also.

All - does anyone know where the resources of the Old OSGeo education repository are? The old repository had great number of educational resources (lecture slides, tutorials, workshop materials etc) but I cannot find it now as the link is missing and we need to make sure these are added to the new website.

Best wishes,

Suchith

Small correction to "class project" page.

Full list of OSGeo projects
Provides the full list of available Free and Open source GIS from web mapping to desktop GIS that you can make use of for your teaching and research.

We are an open source foundation, not all of the projects are "free and open", some are simply "open source" (see what is open source<https://www.osgeo.org/about/what-is-open-source/>).

We have democratized GIS so everyone and our future generations are now owners of these resources. Every one of you are also the owners of all these software and you have full freedom to use as you wish for your education needs and also donate it to your students as you wish without any vendor permissions!

We thank all colleagues for their selfless efforts over many years which has helped us to make this possible. I will always be grateful to every one of them.
