[Geomoose-users] GeoMoose and SDE

Hey Jay,

This is more of a MapServer question. But, I can say that is depends a little on how you have SDE configured:
1) Configure SDE + ArcGIS Server to serve WMS - Then you access the layers in GeoMOOSE just as you would any other WMS service. This is kinda handy because you can style the layer with the ESRI tools and use SDE, but you get to side-step the headaches of using ArcIMS (and it's replacements).

2) Store the SDE database in Oracle. I'm not sure if MG is an Oracle shop, but you can use SDE to store data in the Oracle SDO_GEOMETRY format, which map server can also read.

3) Follow these directions: http://www.maptools.org/ms4w/index.phtml?page=README_INSTALL.html#sde I have no direct experience with following them so your mileage may vary a bit.

Can GeoMoose read and display SDE datasets…

If so how do you write the .map file?

Any thoughts / Examples of a .map file?

Thanks
