Dear Dan,
thanks for that hint.

One note specifically for Debian Linux and php5:
One needs to install dbase.so separately (no dbase.so in the Debian packages) as described
here:
http://www.mattiasgeniar.be/php/how-to-compile-and-install-php-extensions-from-source

One having done this, I get the following error:

Warning: [MapServer Error]: msGetLabelSize(): Could not find/open font in
/srv/www/geomoose/production/php/print.php on line 247

Fatal error: Call to a member function saveImage() on a non-object in
/srv/www/geomoose/production/php/print.php on line 250

- no matter which version of fpdf I am using (/srv/www/geomoose/production/ corresponds to
/ms4w/apps/geomoose/htdocs). I guess this has to do with some font path definition. Could
you - or anyone else - please give me a hint where to start looking for the right path
setting?
