All,

Does it make any sense to add to the layer names in the demos the TYPE of service they are? Could put something in parenthesis at the end of the layer title or something?

Yes, OL supports Arc REST services. In fact, the Arc REST services are supported in GeoMOOSE 2.2 as a layer type. The UTM demo that comes with the download has an Arc REST service layer which shows the configuration. You can see what it looks like at:

AcrGIS Server 9.x has good support for publishing WMS services from an .mxd file. This can be configured from their web interface or ArcCatalog. IMHO, MapServer still out-performs ArcServer WMS, especially with raster files.

Subject: ArcGIS Services

Hi GM Users,

Is there a way in GeoMOOSE to consume data published on the web as an ESRI ArcGIS Service? I know that WMS is a viable map source for GM, but I don't think that ESRI uses that convention in its services. Sigh, when will the proprietery software model become extinct...

Any suggestions or advice?

Thank you,

Dave Misun
