GeoNode 2.6 released!


   -

   The GeoNode development team is pleased to announce the release of
   GeoNode 2.6, a Spatial Data Infrastructure platform for publishing and
   sharing geographical data and more.
   -

   GeoNode has been incubated as OSGEO project in 2016 and this major
   release after the award reveals how strategic this piece of software can be
   for all the community.

   What’s new
   -

      Better usability and nicer user interface layout
      -

      New advanced and reliable security system based on a token based
      protocol
      -

      A new alternative client based on the React JavaScript Framework and
      OpenLayers 3
      -

      New powerful optional importer with more supported formats for
      uploading data
      -

      New administration command line tools
      -

      Using recent versions of popular components and libraries such as
      Django, PostreSQL/PostGIS, GeoServer, pycsw, OWSLib
      -

      QGIS server as back-end system alternative to GeoServer
      -

      Ansible and Docker scripts for deploying in private and public cloud
      infrastructures
      -

      Robust backup and restore system for migration
      -

   How to install it
   -

      The automatic installer is for Ubuntu 16.04 will install GeoNode in
      few steps:
      -

         $sudo add-apt-repository ppa:geonode/stable
         -

         $sudo apt-get install geonode
         -

         $geonode createsuperuser
         -

         $sudo geonode-updateip “your-domain”
         -

      The manual installation is possible for any OS following this guide
