Hi
For me Thursday (tomorrow) 6pm UTC would be ok. I can provide a meeting room at no costs and without the need to register as part of our partnership with the german research network (DFN).
yours,
Florian

Hi Toni
I'm up for a quick hangout or similar this week - how about Thursday 6pm UTC? Are you able to share a link?
As an aside, we've been using meet.jit.si recently for those folks without hangouts/skype/zoom accounts, but I'm happy to use whatever works.
Cheers

Hi Tobi et all,
+1 for a target date of py3 release.
Florian asked if a short hangout might help to outline and plan remaining work?

Hi
I'm wondering whether we have a target date to release a Python3 compatible version. With Py2 being out of support I think it's important we offer users a stable version (not just a master checkout) to run.
I've been following [ https://github.com/GeoNode/geonode/projects/4 | https://github.com/GeoNode/geonode/projects/4 ] for a while, but it seems new tickets are being added to the milestone regularly so it's getting hard to gauge progress towards 3.0. So - have there been any discussions around when and how a py3 version will be made available?
Cheers
Tobias

I'm not sure any formal discussions have occurred, only the small chat on gitter about it. I am of the opinion that we should try to push for an official release for Python 3 / Django 2 compatibility as soon as possible, since the previous versions are out of support. As far as I can tell, the master branch has already accomplished this. Though there are some bugs, I don't know if any of them are actually related to that change.
At most, maybe finishing some major issues, but my 2 cents is to postpone any more minor issues to a future release to get 3.0 out. I did not know more issues were being added, but you're right, the list has grown actually...
Cheers,
Travis

Hi Developers,
I´ve gone through the list of 3.0 and commented on some issues which could be postponed imho. I, too, would like to push a 3.0 release soon. Let us see what issues really need to get solved and don´t get distracted by minors. Than start to test a RC and get it working smoothly. If features do not work appropriate let us think if we really need these features (eg GeoJSON upload) and if those will improve GeoNode as much as it will consume time to fix them.
yours,
Florian
