[GeoNode-users] Geonode, pair of questions

Hi Simone,

to upgrade my geonode version do you suggest me to update this version or remove everything and start again from scratch?
Regarding the multi - instances solution, I already have two different geoserver running on two tomcat containers, one is the geoserver
related to my institution and it's actually the main wms wfs repo of my two projects, the other is the 'special' geoserver offered by geonode,
used mainly for the upload of new spatial data. I understand that in this solution I need to install in the same machine 3 geoserver instance,
I wonder if that is a good solution.

Hi Eugenio, good to hear that you are back to geonode.
Here my answers.1) yes we kept developing in these months2) Yes you should definitely upgrade geonode, there have been many improvements and also some small data model changes so you might have to rebuild your db or part of it.3) although there are plans to fully support such feature, it is not fully implemented yet so you have to go for two geonodes (for geoserver is suggested to have two different tomcats on different ports with a geoserver each)4) I'm not very confident with geonetwork but yes, it is supported and you can give a try on using it.

this is my first time I use this list, I had some messages exchange in the previous google group.

In the past I tested geonode installing on my own an instance on my ubuntu server 12.04 in the 
version 2.4.dev20140922100009. For this I have to say thank you to Simone Dalmasso who
drove me in the installation. I performed a custom installation, following  this guide:

at this URL my instance is still running but actually it has been abandoned since last year more or less:

Currently I need to go further using geonode, however, due to a long time without using it, I'm requiring you
some hints and tips.
My questions are: 
is there a new dev version?do you think would be convenient to upgrade to a new dev version? Are there important code improvements?I have two different projects: do you suggest me to prepare two geonode installations (one for each project) or can I set up only one instance and configure it to serve the two project? Can I set up two different website (interfaces)?My data (for both project) are already metadated in a geonetwork catalogue, I know I can use geonetwork as metadata catalogue as well as set up my catalogue as external catalogue. What do you suggest?
