Hi Simone,

just tried the simple command:

python manage.py addsite mysite misite.mydomain

I got

Unknown command: 'addsite'
Type 'manage.py help' for usage.

Maybe I need to point to some specific folder...

Hi Eugenio,
almost all correct but you should not modify the pre and post settings. Just the local_settings within each new__site folder.Geoserver and the db are the normal geonode one, there's only one geoserver and one db for all the sites.

Hi Simone,

thank you again for your answer. I take a look at the documentation page, however I need some clarification.
Here below some doubts on how to organize the sites and hence how to configure geonode:
Have I to configure a principle site from which all the others I will create will depend?
or I can create many stand alone sites?

Currently I would spread three different sites.

I understand I should create three virtual host (in apache in my case) linked to three different folder specially prepared in
geonode/contrib/geocities. That's means in each virtualhost I need to refer the aliases, WSGIScript alias (wsgi.py) and static folders to each specific
sites folder.

To add the sities folder I have to run:
python manage.py addsite site3 site3.example.com

Within the site directory, in local_setting.py, I have only to set up the SITEURL and of course I can customize the template.
Then I need to work on pre/post_settings doesn't it?
Could you please explain me better how and where to set up geoserver and db?

Afterword to customize the look and feel of each site I need to work on templates dir in each site dir.

Thanks for any hints..

E.

Hi Eugenio, you may want to take a look at the geosites contrib app, docs are there as well https://github.com/GeoNode/geonode/tree/master/geonode/contrib/geosites.
For the templates I suggest you to look over the django guide.
ciao

Hi all,

after a bit long time to adjust a version of geonode on my production server, now it's running.
However before using it I need to understand what is the best way, let's say even the philosophy, to manage different projects
which can possibly share information.

What I understand is that I can use a single istance of geonode for all my projects, but I need to create different portals which however
point to the same spatial db and geoserver for the spatial data (indicating different datastore in each local_setting.py but different db to store the django tables. Is that correct?

Over the tutorial: http://docs.geonode.org/en/latest/tutorials/admin/customize_admin/theme_admin.html#customize-theme-admin
I wonder if there is some other guide or reference to understand more deeply how to work with the template.

Thank you

Eugenio
