how the RasterSymbolizer works

Unfortunately it really depends on the structure of your data. I will be on
leave those days, for a workshop. If you still are not able to find a
solution, I can try to find some spare time to take a look at your geotiff.
Problem is I really don't know if I will be able to respond in the next
couple of weeks.
