[GeoNode-users] layer boundary

Hi Alessio,

the warning means that I cannot migrate the data dir from 2.7 to 2.9?

I did a backup of the 2.7 data dir.

Hi Eugenio,
you can already use the GeoServer 2.9.x also with GeoNode 2.4.x.

You must update your GeoServer with this one

http://build.geonode.org/geoserver/latest/geoserver-2.9.x.war

WARNING: The new GeoServer will update the GeoServer DATA dir and therefore you won't be able to revert it. So **before** doing anything, do a hard copy of the GeoServer DATA DIR somewhere on the hard disk.

Best Regards,
Alessio Fabiani.

By the way in the meantime I tested the same layer in another geoserver 2.8.5 version and I added the layer in geonode from an external geoserver.

In this way it works fine.

So as you said this issues is a matter of geoserver version.

Currently I'm using geonode 2.4.1 (stable) equipped with geoserver 2.7.4, I wonder if the new stable 2.6, which should be released soon, will incorporate an updated version of geoserver (at least 2.8). If yes, that could be not a problem, since I planned to upgrade to the new geonode stable release, if not I need to understand better how to activate jai-ext.

It depends on how you start GeoServer.

Using Apache Tomcat, as an instance, you need to add that option to the JVM params -> environment variable "JAVA_OPTS"

in the documentation you mentioned

is written to add the following java option to GeoServer startup script and restart GeoServer to have them enabled

-Dorg.geotools.coverage.jaiext.enabled=true

What does it means? or better what is the geoserver startup script?

You can try, but I'm afraid it won't fix the issue.

As far as I know there were a lot of issues on jai-ext operations which have been fixed recently on GeoServer 2.11 and backported to 2.10.

Also, are you using the GeoServer version 2.9 ?

There are some things that may cause the issue (I guess and assuming this is a straight GeoTIFF and not a mosaic) .

Maybe the GeoServer version is too old. There are recent fixes to preserve the GeoTIFFs ROIs and NoData values when projecting. Most probably this is the cause.

Also you should check that the "jai-ext" JARs are present into the GeoServer lib dir and that the operation are activated
(http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/configuration/image_processing/index.html#jai-ext)
Image Processing — GeoServer 2.10.x User Manual<http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/configuration/image_processing/index.html#jai-ext>
docs.geoserver.org<http://docs.geoserver.org>
Image Processing¶ Java Advanced Imaging (JAI) is an image processing library built by Sun Microsystems. JAI Image I/O Tools provides reader, writer, and stream plug ...

I'm afraid that the fixes are available on GeoServer 2.10 and above though.

By using the color map should be easy to remove the white lines.

Basically you need a rule which declares opacity=0 to all values below (or above, depending on the numbers) that values.

Hi all,

I uploaded a raster layer but unfortunately I see a strange boundary in the layer info map and in the map (see the example attached). It seems to be something related to the on the fly reprojection, since the layer is on EPSG:32633 and the map use a global EPSG:4326.

I know this should be related to the raster feature settings.

Any hints on how to remove this boundary or to put in transparency?
