There is such a widget.  Look in the API docs (Natural docs) further
down in the general documentation page.  It does just what you want. The
complex_workspace widget uses an initialview using "dumpingid" as an
attribute to zoom in on.  Except it relies on featureserver.

Hopefully, the next iterations will produce simpler code while allowing
more complex things done.
